UDE Collection, Inc. is a private atelier devoted to fine natural diamond jewelry in 14k gold, 18k gold and platinum. We design and craft every piece by hand, in small numbers, for clients who value restraint and precision over ornament. Here is how we work — and what we have learned about choosing a diamond.

01 · The Atelier

Stones

We focus on natural diamonds — GIA-certified and responsibly sourced. Every design is also available with a lab-grown diamond on request. We select for cut quality first — fire, brilliance, and proportion above all.

Metal

We work exclusively in 950 platinum and 14k and 18k gold (yellow, white, rose). Recycled where possible, hallmarked always.

Craft

CAD, wax, casting, setting, hand polish. Every stage is executed in our atelier — never outsourced, never rushed.

Built around the client.

Every commission begins with a conversation. We listen first — to the occasion, the wearer, the stone, the budget — and design from there. Sketches become CAD, CAD becomes wax, wax becomes the finished piece. You see every stage.

Your private client portal keeps you connected to the process: stone selections, CAD renderings, casting and setting updates, messages with your designer, and insured delivery.

03 · The Diamond Guide

Natural diamonds, understood.

Before you choose a stone, it helps to know what you are looking at. A short guide to how natural diamonds form, how they are graded, and how to choose the right one for a piece you will wear for a lifetime.

Formed over billions of years

Natural diamonds formed roughly 100 to 200 kilometres beneath the earth's surface, where intense heat and pressure crystallised carbon over one to three billion years. Volcanic eruptions carried them upward, where they were eventually found and brought to light.

Each natural diamond is a one-of-a-kind record of that journey. No two share exactly the same inner characteristics, which is part of what makes a natural stone so personal.

The 4Cs

Cut — the proportions, symmetry, and polish that decide how a diamond returns light. It has the greatest effect on brilliance and fire, and it is where we are least willing to compromise.

Color — graded from D (colorless) through Z. For white diamonds we typically recommend D–H; fancy colors such as yellow and pink are graded on their own scale.

Clarity — the presence of tiny natural inclusions. VS and SI stones that are clean to the eye offer excellent beauty and value.

Carat — the stone's weight. Two stones of the same weight can look very different depending on cut, so we always look at the diamond, not just the number.

Certification

Our center diamonds come with an independent grading report, most often from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). The report confirms the stone is natural and records its 4Cs, measurements, and often a laser inscription on the girdle.

Why choose natural

A natural diamond is rare, formed by the earth, and has been the traditional stone for engagement rings and heirlooms for generations. For many clients, its origin and history are what give it meaning.

We select every natural stone by hand, with cut quality first, then set it in 14k gold, 18k gold, or platinum at our Los Angeles atelier.

Prefer lab-grown? We offer that too

Although we focus on natural diamonds, every UDE Collection product and design is also available with lab-grown diamonds. They offer the same look and sparkle, often at a lower price. Just let us know your preference when you inquire and we will guide you through both options side by side.
